Move 36
Move 36 a digital piece created by Eduardo Kac is not only a peice of an art but a life summarized into a single picture. Just like in Sherman this peice uses a strong source of light to focus down on the plant. Showing and creating a life for the plant and distinguishing it from the chess board that has a ghostly appearance in the background. Although the plant is center the composition is saved by the direction and angle of the checkerboard and squares on the board. While the green on the plant itself boldly stands out agianst the background.

Although we may only be seeing a simple plant the viewer is left with more then just a picture of a plant but a photo of life. With chess or checkers in mind thanks to the background the viewer might beckon in his or her mind for the plant to keep moving or to show its next step. At the same time the green that is taking control of the whole page may be saying to the viewer that this chess peice is actually alive and can move on its own. This not only creates interest but it also creates an urge or an understanding of motion. There should be a play button underneath this peice that could be touched to provoke the plant onward.
Sherman
Red, red, and more red what more needs to be said about this piece. It’s bleeding feeling in a flow of red down the blanket and back up to her hair. The light on her shoulder makes her pop out of the background like a beacon for the eyes. While the light on here eyes keep the viewer locked into her emotion and how she is feeling. With her body centered and her legs raised it creates a great composition that fills up the whole page while at the same time, refraining from overwhelming the viewer.
The red in this picture brings up a lustful feeling while her eyes create an exposed, sympathetic, and innocent feeling. Almost as if someone just walked into the room on her and found her like that without her consent. The mood overwhelms and the red leads the viewer to wanting to see what happens next or what may have happened. Several of her photo reflect this feeling and over time I believe she may have perfected what she was going for.
